Dr. Sutton is an associate professor and adult health nurse practitioner at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He graduated with his EdD in Adult Education and Human Resource Development in 2004 and earned his MSN at the University of Florida in 1995. Dr. Sutton has nearly two decades of higher education teaching expertise, and has published in several professional journals, and has presented his research and practice findings at local, national, and international venues. To support his research Dr. Sutton has been awarded research and training grants from both governmental and private funders. His current study focuses on the use of technology as an obesity intervention in rural and medically-underserved communities. Dr. Sutton currently serves as the NAU Nursing PI/PD for the Arizona AHEC Rural Health Professions Program whose aim is to train primary care FNPs to work in medical shortage areas and with populations experiencing significant health disparities. Dr. Sutton also serves on the Governing Council for Flagstaff Medical Center as a community member.
