The kidney is greatly affected by each of the components of cardiometabolic syndrome. Dr. Mende will discuss two complex patient cases illustrating the separate contributions of hypertension, obesity, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia to albuminuria and decline of renal function with the risk of chronic kidney disease.
